60hr meditation, pranayama & mantra teacher training

with Nico Luce

This module is dedicated to learning how to teach and hold space for the most subtle practices of yoga that have a profound effect in our mind and psyche with the potential to transform our state of consciousness. The benefits of these practices are well known and much needed in our world today, from stress management, improving concentration and lengthening attention span to emotional well being, enhanced self-awareness and inner peace.

As yoga teachers, we strive to help our students in any way we can, and adding guided meditations, precise breathing techniques and meaningful mantras to your yoga classes will make the experience more powerful and effective. Teaching these will demand your greatest awareness, sensitivity and grace, qualities you can cultivate and apply to every aspect of your life.

Mythic Mantra is a program designed by Crystal for teachers who want to infuse the mythology of yoga, with the songs of old, to their classes. You will understand the symbolism and meaning of the most exquisite mantas, practicing chanting them daily to build confidence in your voice and experience the effect they have on you. You will learn techniques on how to share with your students the ancient traditions that aim to take us beyond the physical.

Pre-training Required Reading

The Ramayana is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Mahābhārata in which we find the Bhagavad Gita.

This epic story narrates the life of Rama, a legendary prince of an ancient kingdom. It follows his fourteen-year exile to the forest, his travels across India with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, the kidnapping of his wife by Ravana the great king of Lanka, resulting in a war with him and Rama's eventual return home to be crowned king.

The Ramayana depicts the duties of relationships with the cast main characters: the ideal father, the ideal servant, the ideal brother, the ideal husband, the ideal wife and the ideal king. Like The Mahabharata, the Ramayana presents the teachings of ancient Hindu sages in narrative allegory, interjecting philosophical and ethical elements.

Due to the length of the text, you are required to read it in advance so we can later discuss as a group the insights you drew from it, as well as the qualities and symbolism of its main characters and the core teachings of this masterpiece.
